What is the EVO Visian ICL?
The EVO Visian ICL is an implantable collamer lens that is placed inside the front portion of the eye to correct the need for glasses and contact lenses. The ICL can correct nearsightedness (myopia) and astigmatism in one quick procedure. The ICL is made of a soft collamer material just like the collagen in our own bodies that does not cause inflammation or rejection.
Who is a candidate for the EVO Visian ICL?
The EVO Visian ICL is designed for anyone with myopia and/or astigmatism who wants to reduce their need for glasses and contacts. Patients who can not have LASIK due to thin or irregular corneas are often excellent candidates for ICL. Before treatment, Dr. Heimmel will take specialized scans and measurements to recommend the best treatment and type of lens for your eye. The ICL can be custom made based on the measurements of your eye to offer the highest quality of vision for patients with astigmatism.
